Every year, Salvation Army and Watties (and I'm sure the participating cinemas play a big part) hold a film event whereby you get to watch a movie for the cost of can of food. This will cost $1-$3 with 100% going towards the cause! All food gies into the sallies christmas food bank.

Sure they are all family movies, and some fairly old. But its still a cheap night out, and your helping those in need. Even if you don't want to watch any of the movies, you can donate some canned food.
